Programme outline
- How and where to locate reading material in order to answer essay questions.
How to avoid ‘information overload’!!
- How to take lecture notes and how to use these notes in relation to writing up
of essays. How to take notes in relation to reading material to be used for the
writing up of essays.
- How to use ‘Learning Outcomes’ as a guide to writing up of essays.
- How to recognize ‘key’ words in relation to essay questions so as to make sure
that you understand precisely what a particular question is actually asking you
to do.
- Main elements that an examiner will be looking for when marking essays in
respect of continuous assessment and/or exams. How to use an essay plan
and/or mind map as an ‘aide memoire’.
- How to prepare for an exam, including techniques to enhance performance
when sitting the exam (e.g. how to make the best use of time allocated in
relation to answering exam questions more productively).
