Latin 101 begin to read and speak and write Latin

This living Latin language course is for Beginners. Students will learn to pronounce and read Latin from original texts, both ancient and modern and to compose their own sentences.

Based on the teaching method of Reginald Foster, there are no vocabulary cards! This course covers the First Latin Experience.

No paradigms to memorise! Just the living language to understand, write and speak. Working slowly, using simple texts for a clear understanding of the author’s work.

We also welcome students who have learnt some Latin but need to refresh their basic knowledge using this teaching method.

Text Book: Ossa Latinitatis Sola Ad Mentem Reginaldi Rationemque

Required book: Simpson, D.P. – ‘Cassell’s Latin Dictionary’ – (Macmillan, New York 1959) or equivalent, including a small English to Latin section.

Wednesdays:  7.00pm-9.00pm

Course Fee: £150 per term (if minimum number of students)
